Morocco Through Its Artistry

An Art Adventure in Marrakech and Beyond

A Journey for the Culturally Curious

For anyone drawn to beautiful objects and thoughtfully designed spaces, seeing the finished work is only the beginning. The real fascination lies in understanding how techniques developed in Morocco, hearing the stories behind them, and discovering why artisans remain committed to carrying them forward.

This is an art adventure, not an art retreat.

You’ll meet makers in their own spaces, observe their process, and have opportunities to try selected techniques yourself.

Morocco Through Its Artistry

Experience Morocco through its artisans, architecture, design, and creative traditions.

Every element of this journey is thoughtfully curated, from the creative experiences and opportunities to make pieces of your own to the pacing and boutique accommodations selected for their character, design, and atmosphere.

Hi, I’m Sue. I was born in Iran and left as a teenager during the war. When I first traveled to Morocco, I was touched by how familiar so much of it felt, from the architecture and artistry to the warmth and generosity with which I was welcomed. It reminded me of a version of home I hadn’t seen in years.

The more time I spent in Morocco, the more I saw creativity everywhere: in its tilework, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, architecture, and objects made for everyday life. What I found especially meaningful was the pride artisans take in their heritage and the generations of knowledge reflected in their work.

I’ve always loved art and design and have explored ceramics and other art forms for years. I also ran my own craft business, which deepened my appreciation for what it takes to create something by hand. That personal connection drew me to curate a journey that does more than showcase Morocco’s rich artistic heritage.

This is a journey centered on thoughtful design, human connection, and a deeper understanding of the people, knowledge, and skill behind the work we admire. We will spend time with makers, learn about the history and creative traditions behind their work, and hear from them directly about their experiences.
